WEPLUR LLC – PRIVACY POLICY

Welcome to WEPLUR, the app that’s all about helping you connect with others! At WEPLUR LLC (“WEPLUR,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), the makers of WEPLUR, we’re committed to helping you find, communicate, and connect with others while respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use WEPLUR (the “App”).  Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Policy will have meaning in our Terms of Service, if you want to take a look at that too. 

WEPLUR does not sell your personal information, run advertisements, or use your personal information for profiling, tracking, or targeting advertising.  We collect only what is necessary to operate a safe, high-integrity platform aligned with the values of Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect (that’s the “PLUR”).

Our processing of personal information may be subject to certain privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or the California Consumer Privacy Act. Where GDPR applies, WEPLUR is the data controller for the processing of personal information from the App, and, except as otherwise expressly stated in this Policy, the data processor for the processing of personal information within the App.  Please direct any data protection concerns to WEPLUR, using the information provided in the Contact Us section below in this Policy.

By creating an account or using WEPLUR, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, then you must stop using the App and delete your account.

We believe meeting and connecting with others should be fun, and so should understanding how we handle your information. While we’ve kept our tone light, we take your privacy seriously. By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. So, grab a cup of coffee (or wine, we don’t judge), and let’s dive into the details!

  1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information. We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for the App, create or modify your profile, set up your account preferences, or communicate with us. This information may include:

  • Your name and contact information (email address, phone number)
  • Date of birth and gender
  • Sexual alignment and relationship preferences
  • Location information (Hometown)
  • Relationship status
  • Profile information (biography, interests, lifestyle choices, goals, frustrations)
  • Photos (which you can designate as either public or private)
  • Login information and password
  • Communication preferences

1.2 Photos and Media. While we stress not judging a book by its cover, we understand that photos are an important part of your online profile. You can upload photos to your profile and designate them as either:

  • Public Profile Photos: Visible to all users of the App
  • Private Gallery Photos: Only visible to users you specifically grant access to

We take the security and privacy of your photos seriously, especially those you’ve designated as private. For more information on the specific policies for posting, sharing, and accessing user-provided photos, please see our Terms of Service.

1.3 Usage Information. To make sure you’re getting the best value out of our App, when you use our App, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns, including:

  • Device information (type of mobile device, operating system version, unique device identifiers)
  • IP address and network information
  • App usage data (features used, time spent on the App, actions taken)
  • Log data (search terms, pages viewed, crashes, system activity)
  • Location data (with your permission)
  • Time zone of user
  • Country or region (for legal compliance)

1.4 Communication and Messaging Data.  WEPLUR offers its users the ability to message and chat with other users in the App; it’s a fundamental aspect of getting to know someone.  When using this function, WEPLUR may obtain the following personal information:

  • Messages sent/received between users
  • Timestamps
  • Metadata
  • Expired or deleted messaging behavior (for example, if a message is viewed/not viewed)

1.5 Cookies and Similar Technologies. These are not yummy Oreos or Chips Ahoy.  Instead, cookies are files with a small amount of data that may include an anonymous unique identifier. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our App and hold certain information. 

Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser or App.  Types of cookies we may use include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the App to function properly and cannot be switched off.

Performance Cookies: These cookies collect information about how you use our App, helping us improve its functionality.

Functionality Cookies: These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization.

We may use cookies for various purposes, including the following:

  • type of mobile device;
    • personalize your experience;
      • analyze which portions of the App are visited and used most frequently; or
      • measure and optimize advertising and promotional effectiveness.

If you do not want us to deploy cookies in the App, you can opt out by setting your mobile device to reject cookies. You can still use the App if you choose to disable cookies, although your ability to use some of the features may be affected. The choice is yours.

1.6 Third-Party Login. If you sign in through Google, Apple, or another third-party, you are authorizing us to collect, store, and use, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, any and all information that you agreed that third-party would provide to us through its respective application programming interface (“API”). Such information may include, without limitation, your first and last name, third-party username, third-party profile picture, headline, unique identifier and access token, and email address.

1.7 Third-party Analytics. WEPLUR and our third-party technology providers may use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) to evaluate your use of the App or Site, compile reports on activity, collect demographic data, analyze performance metrics, and collect and evaluate other information relating to the App and mobile and Internet usage.

  • How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

2.1 Core App Functionality

  • Create and manage your account
  • Develop and display your profile
  • Assign badges and scoring based on your activity and interactions in the App
  • Enable communication between users
  • Process your transactions

2.2 Improvement and Analytics

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Develop new features and services
  • Conduct research and analytics to improve our product
  • Conversion reports, which are aggregated and anonymized analytical reports related to user interactions within the app, including but not limited to message initiation, feature engagement, and subscription events.  These reports do not include the content of private messages.

2.3 Communications

  • Send service-related notifications
  • Provide customer support
  • Conduct surveys to improve our services

2.4 Safety and Security

  • Verify your identity
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activity
  • Safety moderation for the App platform
  • Monitor and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Protect the safety of our users
  • How We Share Your Information

WEPLUR may need to share your information for the following reasons:

3.1 With Other Users. The whole point of WEPLUR is to connect with others so naturally, we share some of your information with other users:

  • Information and content in your profile (including public photos)
  • Private photos (only with users you’ve specifically granted access to)
  • Information about your online status and activity

3.2 With Service Providers. We can’t do it alone, so we need to work with third-party service providers who help us operate, improve, and secure our App. These providers may have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose, including:

  • Cloud storage providers
  • Payment processors
  • Identity verification providers
  • App stores such as Apple Store and Google Play
  • Analytics services, such as Google Analytics
  • Customer support services
  • Email and communication services

3.3 For Legal Reasons. If necessary, we may disclose your information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, legal proceedings, or similar legal process. We may also disclose your information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • Performance of our contractual terms and obligations
  • Protect our rights, property, or safety
  • Protect the safety and security of our users or the public
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App
  • Respond to government or law enforcement requests
  • For any other lawful purpose with the explicit consent of the user.

3.4 Business Transfers. If we are involved in a wheeling, dealing merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our App of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

3.5 No Selling of Personal Data/Third-Party Advertising.  WEPLUR is subscription supported and does not rely on advertising for its revenue.  WEPLUR will not sell or share your personal information to a third-party providers or networks for advertising, targeted or otherwise, or for any other for-profit purposes.

  • Legal Basis For Processing Your Personal Information

As outlined herein this Policy, WEPLUR processes personal information in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations of Washington State, the United States, United Kingdom (“UK”), European Union (“EU”), and European Economic Area (“EEA”). The legal bases for our processing of your personal information include:

  • Contractual Necessity: We process your personal information as necessary to perform our contractual obligations to you under our Terms of Service, including creating and managing your account, developing your profile, enabling communication between users, and providing our core services.
  • Legitimate Interests: We process your personal information based on our legitimate interests, including improving our App functionality, troubleshooting technical issues, developing new features, conducting research to improve our algorithms, detecting and preventing fraudulent activity, and ensuring platform safety and security.
  • Consent: Where required by law, we process your personal information based on your explicit consent, which you provide when you register for the App, create or modify your profile, or opt-in to specific features. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your settings or contacting us.
  • Legal Compliance: We process your personal information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests, including responding to law enforcement requests and court orders.
  • Vital Interests: In exceptional circumstances, we may process your personal information to protect your vital interests or those of another person, such as in emergency situations or to prevent harm.
  • Public Interest: Where applicable, we may process your personal information for tasks carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us.

We will not process your personal information for purposes incompatible with those disclosed in this Privacy Policy without providing you with notice and, where required by law, obtaining your consent.

  • Your Choices and Rights

We believe in giving you control over your information. Here’s how you can exercise your choices:

5.1 Account Information. You can update, correct, or delete your account information at any time by logging into your account settings. If you wish to delete your account entirely, you can do so through the App settings, though this will permanently delete your profile and all associated data.

5.2 Location Information. You can enable or disable location services when you use our App through your device settings. However, turning off location services may affect certain features of the App, including but not limited to access or full usage of the App.

5.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies. As mentioned above, most mobile devices allow you to disable cookies through the device settings. However, if you choose to disable cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our App. We want you to be 100% comfortable in using WEPLUR, so the choice is yours to make.

5.4 Marketing Communications. You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe link included in each email. Even if you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you service-related communications. We do not use targeted advertising of third parties in our App.

5.5 Data Rights. Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. Below, we outline the rights available to you based on your jurisdiction.

First of all, regardless of your location, you have the absolute right to do the following:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
  • Opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us
  • Request information about how your personal information is used and shared

Second, if you happen to live in the United States, states including but not limited to California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Utah, or other states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have the following additional rights:

  • Right to Know/Access: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which we collected the information, our purposes for collecting the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared the information.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information (as those terms are defined under applicable state laws) and the processing of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

Next, if you are located in either the UK, EU, or the EEA, you have the following rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK-GDPR”) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“EU-GDPR”), respectively, and applicable national data privacy laws:

  • Right of Access: You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether personal information concerning you is being processed and, if so, access to that personal information.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to have inaccurate personal information corrected and incomplete personal information completed.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to have your personal information erased under certain circumstances.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing: You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal information under certain circumstances.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transmit that information to another controller.
  • Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information under certain circumstances, including processing for direct marketing purposes and profiling.
  • Right Not to Be Subject to Automated Decision-Making: You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

As we may have non-identifiable personal information, we may be limited in our ability to honor an individual’s GDPR rights. An individual who falls under EU-GDPR may have the right to complain to the EU Data Protection Authority (“DPA”) in their respective jurisdiction, while an individual who falls under UK-GDPR may have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”).

To exercise these rights, contact us at the information below in Contact Us. We will respond to your request within 30 days, subject to verification of your identity. If your request is denied, you may appeal the decision by contacting us.

  • Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.  Our data security measures may include the following:

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

As a Data Controller, we adhere to the standards set forth in Article 24 of the General Data Protection Regulation, implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the appropriate levels of security. In event of a data breach, we will immediately notify the impacted parties within 48 hours from when we confirm a data breach occurred.

  • Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need to use your information, we will either securely delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you.  For the following categories of data, specific retention policies shall be applied by WEPLUR:

  • User Account Data: Retained until deletion by user.
  • Public Profile/Private Gallery Content: Retained until removed, revoked, or required for safety investigations.
  • Messaging: Expired or deleted after defined windows, unless required for safety investigations.
  • Verification Metadata: Retained only as required for compliance with user account verification.

If you decide to part ways with us and delete your account, we will be sorry to see you go, but rest assured that we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time period, except for information we need to:

  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Comply with legal requirements
  • Protect against fraudulent or illegal activity
  • App Stores and Third-Party Sites

Your App store (e.g., Apple Store or Google Play) and third-party websites, applications, or services that are linked to the App, may collect certain information in connection with your use of the App, such as personal information, payment information, geolocational information, and other usage-based data. We have no control over the collection of such information by these third-party App stores, so remember that any such collection or use will be subject to that third party’s applicable privacy policies. 

Payment Processors:  WEPLUR is a subscription-based App offered on both Google Play and Apple Store.  These platforms also act as our payment processors for the subscription service.  All payment information, including billing address, credit card information, or bank information are collected, used, and retained by Google Play and Apple Store solely for the purposes of processing your subscription payment.  WEPLUR only receives data related to the confirmation of payment, subscription status, and renewal dates.  For more information on the privacy policies of these organizations:

Financial:  WEPLUR uses RevenueCat to run analytics and reporting on its subscription revenue from the App.  Using information obtained by the above providers Google Play and Apple Store, some of your personal information may be shared with Revenue Cat.  For more information on its privacy policy:

Analytics: WEPLUR uses third parties, including Google Analytics, to collect and analyze usage behavior, system performance, and compile aggregate data to allow us to make improvements, address technical issues, and ongoing maintenance. Information collected is not personally identifiable by either WEPLUR or Google, and the information collected is not combined with personally identifiable information.  For more information:

Communications:  WEPLUR uses Sinch Mailgun (“Mailgun”) and Twilio to facilitate our email and messaging communications, respectively, and may share personal information with these third parties in order to provide this functionality with the App.  Information collected may include but is not limited to usernames, personal information within the messages, metadata, and timestamps. Identification: In addition, WEPLUR may use Stripe Identity (“Stripe”) to verify the identity of the users.  Stripe receives information directly from you, including but not limited to government-issued ID, ID metadata, facial biometric data, and timestamps, to perform this function; WEPLUR does not collect, use, share, or retain any information pertaining to the identity verification process.   • Age Restrictions

Because of its subject nature, WEPLUR is not intended for individuals under the age of twenty-one (21) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 21. If we discover that someone under the age of 21 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete the account, remove any associated data, and implement additional verification procedures as required.   1. International Data Transfers

We operate globally, which means your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. By using the App and providing us with information, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.  The App and its servers are operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that your information, including your personal information, may be transferred to, processed, maintained, and used on computers, servers, and systems located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction.


When we transfer personal information outside of your country, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information and to ensure that it is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  Depending on the jurisdiction, these safeguards may include but not be limited to the following:

  • Contractual provisions requiring adequate protection
  • Technical and organizational measures to ensure security and confidentiality
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
  • Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) for intra-group transfers
  • Adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission (pertaining to EU-GDPR) or UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)/Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (“DSIT”) (pertaining to UK-GDPR)
  • Post-Schrems II administrative measures, as appropriate
  • Derogations under Article 49 of the EU-GDPR in limited circumstances
  • Certification and certification mechanisms by specialized agencies
  • Other mechanisms as required by jurisdictional regulations


WEPLUR complies with applicable laws governing cross-border data transfers, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA and other jurisdictions with similar requirements.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.

WEPLUR will provide notice of any changes to this Policy using the following mechanisms:

  • In-app prompts
  • Email notifications
  • Platform updates

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
